I'm a life-long Star Wars fan who's always been obsessed with costuming. My favorite holiday was always Halloween as I was growing up but I was rarely satisfied with my costumes - they were just never good enough! (Except for that awesome robot costume we made out of cardboard boxes, spray paint, and dryer hoses - thanks Dad!)
I joined the 501st Legion in 2016 - mostly because I wanted to have a cool screen-accurate Stormtrooper costume and have an excuse to wear it from time to time! I've stayed active in the Legion and helped to grow it in the Wichita area because of how much it means to me to the see the smiles on kid's (young and old!) faces when the get to interact with that Galaxy Far, Far Away.
I'm currently serving as the Squad Leader of the Great Plains squad of the 70th Explorer's Garrison.

Cosplaying since 2012, Average Asian Cosplay is a Wichita cosplayer. AAC has been to many Midwest conventions including Anime Festival Wichita, Naka-Kon, Planet Comicon and Tokyo in Tulsa. More often than not I have to go on solo missions as Batman or Leonardo where I get the opportunity be a part of someone's like for a little bit . It all started as a Pinterest board and now I'm here. But did it?! Its true that I officially begain cosplaying in 2018 when I cosplayed Zoro to a con. However, I've loved dressing up for as long as I can remember. I loved halloween and even dressed up for movie premieres. So I'm not entirely shocked I ended up cosplaying as an adult. In 2018, I decided I really wanted to cosplay Zoro because he was just so cool. And I absolutely loved it. But my cosplay name doesn't actually come from that cosplay Pinterest board, it came from when I created a Pinterest board for Winry, my second cosplay. Over the past several years, I've cosplayed a variety of characters. I am mainly an anime cosplayer, but also cosplay from other fandoms such as Disney. I am most well known for my Jirou, Zoro, and Honey Lemon cosplays. I've always had a passion for creation and love the creativity that comes with cosplay. I also love bringing the characters I love to life. I love piecing together or sewing outfits, styling wigs, doing makeup, and making props for cosplays. Emcee Monte is an artist that combines his love for hip hop with cosplay. Using his skills as a Rapper, Dancer and DJ, he integrates his musical and dance talent into his cosplay while bringing these two creative worlds together. Growing up, his mentor who was a very skilled carpenter, taught him how to work with his hands to build, repair, create and be a skilled handy-man. As a preteen, his mom taught him how to sew which led to him working with his God-parents at their clothing manufacturing business. My name is Alexandra, and I go by Frostfyrezero online. I’ve been doing cosplay since the early 2010s, when my college buddies sparked a deep interest in crafting costumes. I moved on to learning and teaching about maker spaces in libraries to how to utilize such spaces for cosplay construction and design. Conventions that I have been to so far include San Diego Comic Con, Anime Expo, Fanime, E3 Expo, Wondercon, LA Comic Con, SacAnime, Anime Las Vegas, and Anime Los Angeles. I feel that cosplaying provides an avenue for expressing one’s self, as well as enhancing the enjoyment of attending conventions and being able to meet other people who share the same interest in the character I’m cosplaying as. My cosplays include characters from Naruto, Inuyasha, Spider-Man, Mortal Kombat, Ninja Gaiden, and new ones being planned!

Through dance & theater nearly my whole life, I’ve pretty much only known costuming.
My first cosplay was before I even knew what cosplay was. It was Halloween, and I created a half-human/half-Vulcan, T’Rek, that won top honors in the costume contest. I never looked back.
Since then, I’ve done Star Trek, Marvel, Harry Potter, and other characters. I also wear period pieces, much like dressing as an Edwardian Suffragette when I vote. Getting recognized for some of of my cosplays has been crazy!
I love creating characters, and I hope to find time to keep building my cosplay repertoire. I’ve got more Harry Potter cosplays to come, and a couple of surprises. Though I don’t sew or do big builds, I can find details & pieces that go together to pull the needed look of a character. Such satisfaction when it really brings that character to life.
Also, I use it in my work for mental health & suicide prevention. It has led to the amazing opportunity to help start up Cosplay for Hope with my dear friend, April Roller-Morris. We are focused on the action of mental wellness when it comes to our geek, fandom, cosplay, con-goer tribe.

I'm a cosplayer, architect, ArchViz artist, and aspiring photography model from Panamá. I started cosplaying in 2015 as a hobby. I have a strong passion for geek culture and that helped me develop my work in cosplay. My journey through this community has been relatively short but I have fallen in love with it since the first time I put on a costume. I discovered cosplaying has a lot of layers, and I want to learn more about them as I grow in it. Currently, I want to learn more about making more elaborate props. My favorite part of being a cosplayer is the creative people I meet along the way and how they help me express my vision even further. As a Latin POC, I want to create an opportunity for every aspiring cosplayer to be part of this community and express their art through costume play without limitations of the character they want to portray.

Voodoo King Cosplay

Voodoo King Cosplay is a cosplayer, lifelong gamer, and artist from south Louisiana. He has been cosplaying since January 2018. Considering himself a foamsmith, Voodoo King Cosplay specializes in crafting large armor sets and props out of various types of foam. He enjoys the challenge of making foam look like metal, wood, bone, scales, etc. He is self-taught and learned most of his craft through trial and error. He originally planned on crafting only one costume, but he found that he enjoyed crafting the first one so much that he quickly began work on his second. He plans on going bigger and more elaborate for each successive costume that he crafts.

My name is William Holmes and became involved with media accurate costuming about 16 years ago. I mainly focus on Star Wars characters, but do some superhero costuming as well. I decided that I would build a really elaborate costume for halloween. Little did I know that the scout trooper would open a door to work with and meet amazing people all over the world in the Star Wars Costuming Community. I am a member of the Rebel Legion, 501st Legion, Mandalorian Mercs, The Dark Empire, Saber Guild, and Droid Builders. I am also a member of the Scifi Coalition which covers all sci fi genres. These groups have been an extended family and community that support one another. These groups apply their craft not only to building costumes that look like they stepped out of a movie, comic book, or video game, but support charities all over the world. Being able to give back to my community with my passion for costuming makes being involved with these organizations so rewarding.
